Here’s what Shah Rukh Khan has to say about Narendra Modi’s demonetization move

10/Nov/2016 | BollywoodHungama | BollywoodHungama news »

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a major step by banning the notes with denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. This sudden step from the government was aimed mainly to eradicate the black money and end corruption in the country. Many Bollywood celebrities including Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Rajinikanth and others came.

Shah Rukh Khan is the king of hearts and the king of words. We all were wondering where the King Khan is when the currency ban happened. While the whole Bollywood had something or the else to say about it, Shah Rukh’s reaction was something we were waiting for. And of course, as usual, though late, but the wait was worth it. Shah Rukh Khan has finally given his reaction on the currency ban and it is on point.
SRK took to his Twitter handle and posted, “Farsighted. Extremely smart. And not politically motivated. Will bring such a positive change for Indian economy. Great move @narendramodi”
The currency ban imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi saw the ban of notes with denominations of 500 and 1000, with immediate effect. Though inconvenient, but this one is a great move to curb corruption and the practice of black money that is gripping the Indian economy. The whole Bollywood, along with the commoners, is applauding the decision.
Now, even King Khan approves.
On work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’, co-starring Alia Bhatt, which will hit the theatres on December 25.

Aamir Khan has much at stake with his ambitious upcoming venture Dangal, and he is clearly in the mood to make new friends right now. While Bollywood's 'Mr Perfectionist' has never really been known to be close to superstar Shah Rukh Khan, it came as a pleasant surprise to many when reports started circulating that Aamir is all set to host a special screening of Dangal for SRK.

News was trending online says Aamir has plans to screen the film for SRK any time soon. Although the two Khans have not exactly been friends through most of their nearly two and half-decade career in Bollywood, they have been bonding bigtime lately.

For Aamir, sending out public vibes that he is friends with SRK right now would help his film tremendously. It would draw Shah Rukh's primary fan base to watching his film.

While on Shah Rukh, the superstar has been reeling in recent time, with his latest releases such as Fan and Dilwale failing to live up to expectation at the box-office. Adding a few powerful friends among peers would naturally help.

If SRK now attends a special screening of an Aamir film, it would alter the power equations in Bollywood. Aamir has been closer to Salman Khan, who was SRK's bitter rival till not long ago. May be, the rise of younger stars has made the Khans realise this is the time to stick close to each other and pool in a consecrated fan base.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is Bollywood’s King of Romance today but all those years back, he was just a guy from Delhi trying to make it big in Mumbai. And even today, there is a part of SRK who identifies with being a newcomer.

Talking at the launch of his biography, the actor said, “An actor is just like water… he should just adapt the colour and shape. I believe the art is important, the artist is not. The art remains and not the artist and as an actor, I feel if I think like that I can work with some amount of purity. The purity will be retained if I believe that my art is important than myself.”
Shah Rukh Khan was speaking at an event to launch a biography on him by “Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye” director Samar Khan. The actor also took to Twitter to thank Samar and how his son AbRam loved the launch. “Thk u @samarmumbaikhan this is so special. The book is lovely & my lil 1 is happy to c so many papas #25yearsofalife,” he wrote.

Talking about his journey, SRK wrote, “25 years in the film industry was a big dream for a boy who came from Delhi all those years ago. These years have been full of excitement, hard work and various ups and downs and this book is a tribute to all these filmmakers who believed in me and my dreams. I am extremely thankful to all my fans who have made me who I am today.”

Recalling his initial days, he said: “I was an odd-looking guy, I was not from a film background, I spoke too fast but I am thankful all the filmmakers and those friends who gave me an opportunity. So for me if a newcomer comes I have been trained by people like these to respect the newcomer and love them.”

Shah Rukh also revealed that being the star, the choice of roles being offered to him get limited. “Sometimes it’s awkward… today being in this position, the choices are less. I meet many directors but it goes out of hand sometimes. Despite spending 25 years, I still feel like a newcomer. I find it awkward I have spent 25 years but I still feel like a newcomer.”

Titled “25 years of a Life”, the book captures interesting incidents from King Khan’s successful journey in the industry. Samar Khan said: “This book was the perfect chance for me to tell the SRK story from a different lens. I would like to thank everyone involved who has made this dream project a reality.”

The book has a segment by Aditya Chopra who definitely has a major role in shaping up Shah Rukh Khan's career.

Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Three movies mean three characters and three stories. But in my head, all three stories are actually one person’s story"

The excerpts from Aditya Chopra's conversation with Samar have been published by DNA. Read more here.

The book will also unfold SRK's relationship with all his directors and all the iconic roles that he has played.

2. "Just like the character of Raj, my relationship with Shah Rukh has also evolved over the last two decades. When we cast him for Darr, to be honest, neither dad, nor I really liked him. Neither of us were very impressed but somehow, maybe because everyone kept rejecting the negative part, we ended up signing him."

3. "Our first shot with him was the Holi song. I think that very day itself, I knew that this man was going to be a superstar. He had a strange kind of madness in his eyes that was very exciting."

4. "We became casual friends, but it wasn’t like we were so pally that I’d hang out with him over a beer. When I decided to make my DDLJ, I knew I had to have Shah Rukh."

5. "Over the years, as a producer, a director, and a friend, I have seen Shah Rukh perform multiple characters and portray all kinds of emotions."

6. "I’ve always felt, and still feel that Shah Rukh doesn’t laugh whole-heartedly.His laughter never reaches his eyes. Somehow, it’s always a bit hollow, a bit fake.  I think that maybe that has something to do with the fact that he lost his parents very early in life. I don’t think he ever got over that loss."

7. "As an actor, I think he is the best actor in the whole world and that we’ve seen only 10 per cent of his talent. That 90 per cent is still to come and blow us away!"

8. "l hope I can give him roles that tell the world, You’ve seen Shah Rukh the superstar, now see Shah Rukh the actor.”
